The Dream Catcher

The first novel Lyndsay Tobiyah published was The Dream Catcher.

The first thought that filled her mind when this came about was the idea of a girl who had spent most of her days having dreams about herself, but also not. They were the dreams of a past life, dreams of a world that had existed once but no longer did. So, Annie Bouvais, and her dream self, Anicia, were born.

A hero was required. Who and what would he be? He had to be someone who would understand her, be willing to believe in her dreams, and who would care enough to help. He was Matthew Wilkins, a young man who was training to be a teacher, with a history of beliefs he had found through his upbringing. He couldn't be just any type of teacher. He had to be able to understand the past, and people within the past. He became an anthropology teacher. He was everything he needed to be, strong, tall, beautiful - so easy to fall in love with. Who could ever want more?

Unfortunately, there always has to be someone to hate, and this one had more than it's fair share. The simple fact is, there are twice the number of characters, because there are characters within dreams.

First, Ali Rice, aka Alexis. She who would do whatever was within her power to ruin the lives of those who cared about her, to defeat those who opposed her. She would stop at nothing to get her way. Whether that included sleeping with any and all, to making sure that everyone knew she was in the room. She was perfection.

Then there was Harley, the true enemy of the piece. He was cruel, and hard, and willing to use a gun if he had to. When he first arrived, it was not his idea to meet Annie, but as soon as he did, things were set in motion, things that would not stop until the truth was finally known.

The tale was not vital to the world, but was quietly important to the author, who would no sooner give up the charaters than she would give up her hands. The tale of past lives and futures not yet known was where it all came togther for the first time. This was the evolution of Lyndsay Tobiyah's writing from simple stories to complete novels. It was the start of her new path.
